LoadmatePlus
LoadmatePlus is a loading computer program for use onboard ship. It is an IMO Type 3 loading computer and calculates the vessel's intact and damage stability directly from an accurate geometric definition of the vessel. This means it can be used to analyse conditions that differ significantly from those in the stability booklet, where an approved damage stability limiting curve is not available. Features
- Direct calculation from geometry definition: LoadmatePlus uses an accurate geometric definition of the vessel for all calculations, including damage calculations. It does not use look up tables. This means that LoadmatePlus is an International Maritime Organisation (IMO) Type 3 loading computer system.
- Interactive loading: LoadmatePlus displays a loading diagram, which is interactive. The user can click on a compartment in the diagram, to inspect and/or change the contents. Alternatively, compartment contents can be specified in the loading table. When the contents of compartments are changed, the vessel is immediately re-balanced to determine the new equilibrium draft, trim and heel.
- Stability assessment: Once the equilibrium position has been established, LoadmatePlus can calculated righting lever (GZ) curve and from this determine whether the vessel complies with relevant statutory stability requirements for the type of vessel. The stability can also be checked against KG limit curves and/or maximum KG's from the Probabalistic Stability analysis.
- Damage scenarios: A standard set of damage scenarios can be applied to any loading condition and the results checked against the relevant damage stability requirements. Damage stability calculations always use the geometry definition directly. No look-up tables are used.
- Ad-hoc Damage: The User can also choose to damage individual compartments, so that any damage scenario can be quickly evaluated.
- Cranes: The operation of cranes can be simulated and checked against possible statutory stability requirements.
- Unit Loads: Units Loads can be defined and placed on designated decks or anywhere else on the vessel.
- Longitudinal strength:: LoadmatePlus can evaluate the longitudinal shearing force and bending moments for the intact and optionally damage conditions. The results are checked against limiting values specified by the classification society.
- Calculation results: LoadmatePlus displays the equilibrium drafts, trim and heel plus other key parameters are constantly in a panel. This also includes indicators which clearly display whether the loading condition complies with the stability and strength criteria. The righting levers and strength curves, can also be optionally displayed in windows. A full condition report can also be printed.
- Data preparation: For the geometry definition LoadmatePlus can either use a common type of section definition, or a surface definition based on facets. A facet type definition is used in the AVEVA/Tribon Initial Design programs, and LoadmatePlus can import this data directly, which generally means that, if the vessel is already defined in AVEVA/Tribon, then preparing the LoadmatePlus model is quick and easy.
